The Long Road No. 2
The road lies open, stark and wide,
beneath a sky that will not guide.
It offers neither sign nor plea,
just the path ahead of me.
I walk where distance tests the will,
through quiet days and moments still.
But… different levels bring different devils.
No promise made, no comfort owed,
no hand to ease the weight I’ve known.
That distant line where day has slowed,
where light endures through clouded load,
I learn at last, by will and load,
to keep my course along this road.
