Still in the Desert
Sometimes God keeps me in the desert because I am not finished yet.
Not everything can be learned in comfort. Some things require distance. Some things require silence.
Here, there is nothing to distract me from myself, and nowhere to place the blame.
What is false begins to fall away. What is true remains.
And so I remain there—not lost, not forgotten—still in the desert, until I am ready to move forward.
