On Earth, as it is in Heaven – Original Painting

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” — Psalm 19:1

Some moments are so profoundly beautiful that they etch themselves into our hearts forever. On Earth, as it is in Heaven is one such moment—turned into an original painting after an unforgettable journey from Velddrif to Vredendal.

Yesterday, as I drove through the vast and ever-changing landscape, I found myself overwhelmed by the sheer magnificence of God’s creation. The rolling fields, distant mountains, and endless skies painted a picture more stunning than any man-made masterpiece. But it was as the sun began to set that the scene truly took my breath away. The heavens were ablaze with deep golds, fiery oranges, and soft purples, casting their glow over the land in a way that felt almost otherworldly. I had to pause, to simply take it in—to let the moment fill my soul with gratitude.

Even after returning home, the image lingered in my mind with such clarity that I felt compelled to paint it immediately. With each brushstroke, I relived the beauty of that drive, the peace of the open road, and the divine artistry of the sky meeting the earth. As if guided by something greater than myself, the painting took form effortlessly, capturing not just the scenery but the profound emotion it stirred within me. And in a moment of perfect synchronicity, as I added the finishing touches, the first light of dawn broke through my studio window—reminding me once again of the seamless connection between heaven and earth.

This original painting is more than just a visual representation of a landscape—it is a tribute to the wonders that surround us, a reminder to pause and appreciate the world that God has given us. The rich textures, bold strokes, and luminous colours convey the grandeur of the heavens meeting the earth, making this original painting a deeply spiritual and awe-inspiring addition to any collection, whether displayed in a home, office, or sacred space.

I am excited to share with you: “On Earth, as it is in Heaven” also known as “From Velddrif to Vredendal” which serves as a constant invitation to reflect on the beauty and grace that exists all around us—if only we take a moment to look.
