My whole life, I have stood just slightly outside the frame—misunderstood, resisted, and often met with the quiet violence of smaller thinking.
But art has never asked me to explain myself in words. It has given me a language beyond that—a place where what I am can simply exist and, in existing, be understood.
Through paint—through light and shadow, through that distant, unyielding glow on the edge of darkness—I have found a way to translate what could never be said plainly. And in that translation, something shifts—not just within me, but within those who stand before the work and feel something stir that they cannot quite name.
If there is anything in this, it is this: whatever it is within you that refuses to be silenced—honour it. Not loudly, not for applause, but with conviction. With honesty. With integrity. And with authenticity. Because when something is made truthfully and authentically, it does more than express—it reaches. And in reaching, it gives others permission to do the same.
